Integration of SupoSE within Redmine
Added by gabriel scolan 1173 days ago
Hi,
I've just got the last 0.4.RC2 of SupoSE and I find the concept very interesting and this might solve a lot a "issue" and convince the rest of the team to use subversion instead of a shared directory ...
We also installed recently Redmine, and I've seen that you've recently move to this tracking tool also.
Do you think about having SupoSE and Redmine integrated together ? The idea would be to have a specific "search" form in the Repository tab, and a new field in the Settings tab to indicate where the index is stored. May be it could be designed as a Plugin.
what do you think of that ?

Hi Gabriel,

I think if this will be the only reason to move from a shared directory to a Version control tool e.g. Subversion there are many
other things which have to be explained.
We also installed recently Redmine, and I've seen that you've recently move to this tracking tool also.
I have had planned this step for about a half year (started in March)
Do you think about having SupoSE and Redmine integrated together ?
Yes i have thoughts about that.......there are many possibilities to do an integration.
I have taken a look into the Redmine part, cause during the scan of the repository many informations are already
stored into the database, so they can be used to do a search in the database...But this is currently done based the
revsion control part of Redmine and not particular for Subversion...
The idea would be to have a specific "search" form in the Repository tab, and a new field in the Settings tab to indicate where the index is stored. May be it could be designed as a Plugin.
The technical part is not so simple, cause SupoSE is currently implemented in Java....I know
that there exists an equivalent of Lucene for Ruby....and of course there are things like JRuby...
So there might be a way....
But currently i have to improve SupoSE in many ways in particular the scanning process to make the search simpler and the results better...
what do you think of that ?
Good idea....
Kind regards
